Giveaway Day: Patchwork Pillows

It's one of my favorite days in the crafty blogosphere... Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day!



In the past, I've discovered some great blogs and even won a prize on Giveaway Day! This year, I'm a giveaway-er!

Up for grabs: Two sets of patchwork throw pillows. Yes, I'm doing two giveaways! Because I like to do things in twos, apparently.

So, set one: Blue elephants


Set two: Pink birds

  10. I'd love to win the blue elephant pillows! I think my favorite thing I've sewn is I made all the curtains in my first house. Nothing special - just fabric on sale hemmed to go over curtain rods in a small, old house. But I always enjoyed them. There's just something special about handmade things.

    I've crocheted a couple of afghans and am working on a fabulous granny square afghan I saw on the show "True Blood". It's got a lot of bright, bold colors and I love crocheting granny squares.

  13. I love the pink pillows:) I have been working on come posie pillow covers it has taken for ever, I am not a sewer, but really am trying lol..hope to have them done soon. I do like redoing things I find at garage sales, painting, fixing, and added things to them:) Thanks for the chance to win:)

    I've made so many things over the years; guess the newest is valances for my sewing room using the selvages from fabric...I use only aqua or greens so I have to save for a while. I got the smaller window done, am saving for the larger one...

  20. Good grief but those blue elephant pillows are adorable!! My current favorite thing I've sewn for my home is a plain little curtain to cover all the power cords on our bookcase turned entertainment center. Boring as all heck, but a bajillion times better than all those cords!

  42. I think I like the pink set more, though I adore the elephants as well. I think my favorite home decor item I've made recently is my new kitchen towels. I used Robert Kaufman vintage kitchen looking prints backed with impossible-to-find waffle cloth to make some excellent looking towels. I'm very happy with them

  47. The pink birds would match my daughter's quilt (which is my favorite project!) so well! I made it using clothes from her 1st year as the applique fabrics, so it has so much meaning to me, and I hope to her one day. For now, she's 3 and just wants to sleep with her Dora blanket.

    My favorite home decor item I sewed myself is my lanai curtains. They are burnt orange with a funky and modern flower print in cream color. They are so easy to sweep across when I want them open or closed, instead of the vinyl vertical blinds with all the strings!

  80. I love the pink birds. This is gonna sound wierd, but the favorite home dec item I have made is a toilet paper dispenser out of a huge peanut butter jar with a 3/8 inch hole drilled in the lid and decopauged. I take the tube out of the middle of the roll and dispense from the middle up through the 3/8 inch hole. It works perfectly and keeps my mom from losing them. It's way cheaper than tissue and looks better than having tp rolls around the house.

    Right now the only home dec item that I've finished are some patchwork pillows for my brother in law. When I get my lap quilt finished it will be my favorite though (much more my style!)

  106. Those are great! My sister LOVES elephants and blue so if I were to win I'd give them to her to go with the elephant candle holder I got her for graduation.

    I haven't sewn any home decor yet. I usually sew gifts or clothes. I am looking forward to making some couch pillows at some point though. :)
